Incoming Associate

Isaac J. Dunn is an incoming associate at Pennington Oliak where he focuses on intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secret, and false advertising disputes. He has experience working on matters at both the trial and appellate levels, including cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in federal district courts , including the Southern District of New York, Northern District of California, District of Delaware, and Western District of Texas, among others nationwide.

Isaac has contributed to all phases of litigation, including drafting complaints, managing discovery, preparing for trial, and briefing dispositive motions and appeals. His recent work includes matters involving patent eligibility under 35 U.S.C. § 101, Lanham Act false advertising claims, trade secret disputes, and administrative appeals from decisions of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He was part of our firm’s small trial team that secured a favorable defense verdict in a federal patent infringement case, where he assisted with witness preparation, motions in limine, and jury instructions.

Before joining the firm, he also gained experience in public law litigation, including Trade Secret related Freedom of Information Act matters and issues involving federal administrative law and the First Amendment.

Isaac is a J.D. candidate at American University Washington College of Law, where his studies focus on civil litigation and intellectual property law. He is expected to graduate in May 2026 and plans to sit for the New York and D.C. Bars.
