Chris Hamaty has 30 years of experience practicing intellectual property law in corporate and law-firm settings. Chris has experience building and managing patent portfolios, with a focus on software, security, and telecommunications technologies. Chris served as Director of Intellectual Property at McAfee, Inc. where he developed and implemented McAfee’s strategic patent program and was responsible for all aspects of intellectual property management including enterprise-wide patent and trademark operations. Chris also served as a senior patent attorney in the patent and licensing department of BlackBerry Ltd. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, and his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. He is admitted to the bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
